Aprivo (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at aprivo.ai and the Aprivo accessibility remediation service. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

We believe in plain language. If something here is unclear, email us at support@aprivo.ai and we’ll explain it.

1. What Data We Collect

We collect only what we need to provide the service:

  • Account information — your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
  • Uploaded files — the PowerPoint files you submit for accessibility scanning and remediation.
  • Usage data — basic information about how you use the service, such as pages visited, features used, and timestamps. We use Plausible Analytics, which does not use cookies or collect personal data.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide the service — scanning your files for accessibility issues, generating AI-powered alt text, and producing remediated output.
  • To improve accessibility scanning — we use aggregated, anonymized usage patterns to make our scanning engine more accurate. We do not read or review your files for this purpose.
  • Billing — processing payments and managing your subscription.

3. AI Processing

When you use AI-powered features, images from your uploaded files are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate descriptive alt text. Anthropic processes this data under their privacy policy.

We do not use your files to train AI models. Anthropic’s API terms also prohibit using API inputs for model training. Your content stays your content.

4. Data Storage

  • All data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure located in the United States.
  • Files and database records are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.
  • All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted via TLS.

5. Data Retention

  • Uploaded files are automatically deleted 90 days after upload.
  • Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days.
  • Usage analytics are aggregated and anonymized — they cannot be traced back to you.

6. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third parties only as needed to operate the service:

  • Anthropic (Claude API) — AI-powered alt text generation. Receives image data from your slides.
  • Stripe — payment processing. Handles your billing information directly; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Amazon Web Services — cloud hosting and file storage.
  • Plausible Analytics — privacy-friendly, cookieless website analytics. No personal data is collected or shared.

7. Cookies

We use session cookies to keep you logged in and maintain your preferences. These are strictly necessary for the service to function.

We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any form of cross-site tracking. Plausible Analytics is cookieless by design.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data — request a copy of what we store about you.
  • Export your data — download your account information and processed files.
  • Delete your data — request that we remove your account and all associated data.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@aprivo.ai. We’ll respond within 30 days.

9. Children’s Privacy

Aprivo is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@aprivo.ai and we will promptly delete it.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including:

  • AES-256 encryption at rest for all stored data
  • TLS encryption for all data in transit
  • Secure password hashing (never stored in plain text)
  • Access controls limiting who can view production data

No system is 100% secure. If we discover a breach that affects your personal data, we will notify you promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we’ll notify you by email or by placing a notice on our website. The “Effective date” at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
